Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences

Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences (Deemed to be University) gained the status of a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 in 2005. It has been reaccredited by NAAC with an A+ grade in its third cycle and has been conferred the elite ‘Category I’ status amongst the Deemed Universities by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India and has also been granted recognition under the Section 12B of the UGC Act. It is exclusively a ‘Health Sciences University offering courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Ayurveda, Physiotherapy, Nursing, and Allied Sciences through its constituent institutions.

 

It is located in a 125-acre unitary campus in Wardha near Nagpur in the state of Maharashtra and offers world-class education through its dedicated teachers, innovative learning methods, and good academic ambiance and also provides its healthcare services to about 1 Lac population in its vicinity through its 1600 bedded state-of-the-art teaching hospital.

It offers courses across all the disciplines from under-graduate, post-graduate, super-specialty, fellowships, and doctoral levels and has about 2,500 students enrolled in the University. There is a strong research culture in the University and there are vibrant MOUs with leading international and national organizations to facilitate joint research, joint doctoral programs, faculty and student exchange programs.
